A customer’s spa was tripping power every time the heater turned on. After inspecting the system, I found that moisture buildup had caused corrosion in both the heater and parts of the controller. Unfortunately, the only solution was to replace the entire controller, including the heater.
Since the existing system was obsolete, an upgraded model had to be installed. However, the new version came with different plugs for all peripheral devices, meaning I had to replace the touchpad as well. On top of that, all existing plugs had to be converted to AMP plugs, requiring me to cut and crimp new connectors onto the wiring.
The new touchpad was more compact, so I fitted an adapter plate to close off the larger hole and ensure a seamless installation. As an added bonus, the upgraded system is now equipped with WiFi, giving the customer extra convenience and control over their spa settings.
Once everything was installed, I adjusted the system settings and ran final tests. The spa powered up perfectly and is now back in action—another happy customer ready to enjoy their upgraded spa!
